When Guaranty Bank inherited a Burnsville, Mississippi, branch as part of their acquisition of First American National Bank (FANB), the deal significantly expanded the bank’s footprint with 11 additional locations strategically positioned across Northeast Mississippi. The Burnsville branch, in particular, presented both an opportunity and a challenge for Guaranty. While Adrenaline had managed exterior renovations to the building during the conversion in 2023, the interior of the branch had not been significantly updated in nearly 30 years.
Not only was the aging interior out of step with Guaranty’s brand standards and the modern banking experience they wanted to deliver, but the branch was in a core service area and needed to stay open throughout the construction. With a compact existing footprint and the mandate to remain operational, the transformation would require both intentional design and carefully coordinated execution. The goal was not simply to renew the appearance of the branch, but to make better use of the existing space, improve the customer experience, and create an environment that reflects how the bank serves its communities today.
The Solution:
Building on a relationship with Guaranty Bank spanning nearly a decade, Adrenaline approached the Burnsville renovation as a comprehensive transformation of both the customer and employee experience, making for a more modern and welcoming environment. The design team rethought the existing footprint to create a more open and functional environment, where select walls were removed to improve workflow and visibility. Glass office partitions maintained dedicated spaces for conversations without closing off large swaths of the branch.
The new layout maximizes usable floor area and creates stronger opportunities for direct, face-to-face connection between employees and customers. The renovated branch interior also incorporates updated technology and new customer-focused amenities, including a coffee bar and concierge teller pod, to deliver on Guaranty’s hospitality-centered approach to banking. Together, these elements support a more personal and inviting banking experience while reinforcing the community relationships at the heart of Guaranty’s promise.
Outside, Adrenaline used a value engineering strategy to update the building while maintaining alignment with the aesthetic established at another one of Guaranty’s branches – the University Avenue location – that was the best representation of design, brand, and kit of parts application. New architectural tower features provide greater prominence for exterior signage, while expanding on the existing exterior envelope allowed updated branding elements to be more fully integrated into the building. The result is a contemporary exterior that creates a stronger and more cohesive Guaranty Bank presence in the market.
The Story:
Transforming the Burnsville branch required more than thoughtful, responsive design. Because the location needed to continue serving customers throughout the renovation, Adrenaline developed a phased construction strategy that allowed banking operations to remain open to customers during the entire 19-week project.
The interior was taken down to the structural studs, with the existing vault and mechanical room preserved for use in the new design. Construction then progressed in carefully coordinated stages. While the lobby was renovated, customer services temporarily shifted to the drive-through. Once the lobby area was complete, services were able to move back inside while work continued on the drive-up and back-of-house spaces.
Throughout each phase, the project team prioritized security and worked to minimize disruption to customers and employees. That carefully sequenced approach allowed Guaranty to accomplish a substantial transformation without removing an important banking resource from the Burnsville community.
Completed in May 2026, the renovation transformed a decades-old interior into a modern environment designed around openness, visibility, and personal service. Guaranty Bank celebrated the branch’s grand reopening in June, welcoming the community back into a space dramatically different from the one it replaced.
The response to the renovation has been enthusiastic with staff embracing the transformed space to better their service and customers expressing appreciation for Guaranty’s commitment to their community through the new environment. The modernized layout, updated technology, and inviting atmosphere reinforce the bank’s promise to providing a contemporary banking experience without sacrificing the personal connections that distinguish community banking.
